    PD: Juveniles arrested for multiple shootings in Lycoming County

    WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — After an investigation into shots fired in Williamsport, police say they arrested several juveniles for the crimes.

    According to the Williamsport Bureau of Police, the first incident occurred on July 18 after officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 2200 block of Linn Street. Police said a car driving by was hit by a bullet but none of the occupants were injured.

    Then on July 22, officers stated they were called for another report of shots fired in the 2100 block of King Street. At the time the shots were fired, children were around the area playing, however, no one was injured.

    On July 23 police said they were called for a report of shots fired in the 600 block of Fourth Avenue where a parked car was shot but no victims were found.

    Detectives stated as the investigation continued, evidence found at the scenes of all three incidents were possibly linked and all committed by juveniles.

    Williamsport Police Criminal Investigators executed search warrants at several homes and seized a gun with an obliterated serial number, suspected of being used in the shootings. Police noted more evidence was also found inside the homes that linked several juveniles to the scenes.

    One juvenile was identified as being responsible for at least one of the shootings and he was charged with various crimes including firearms-related offenses. A second juvenile was found wanted by Philadelphia Juvenile Probation and was turned over pending extradition back to Philadelphia.

    Further investigation resulted in another juvenile being arrested and recovered a second gun, possibly used in one of the shootings. He was charged with multiple firearms-related offenses.

    These incidents remain an active and ongoing investigation and Williamsport police are asking anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigative Unit.
