Man wounded, homes and vehicles damaged in late-night shooting in Wilmington

A man was critically wounded in a shooting on 14th Street in Wilmington Saturday night.

According to a news release from the Wilmington Police Department, officers responded to the 400 block of South 14th Street for a Shot Spotter notification. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. Several vehicles and some homes also had damage from gunfire.

The victim was transported to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

As of Tuesday morning, the Wilmington Police Department said the victim was in stable condition and had been discharged from the hospital.
