    National sandwich shop chain closes downtown Wilmington location

    The Jimmy John’s sandwich shop in downtown Wilmington has closed, according to a customer service representative for the brand. A sign posted on the door said that July 16 was the last day the location at 120 Market St. was open

    The company didn’t provide any other details about the closure but added that the other local restaurants were open as of July 23.

    There are five other Jimmy John’s locations in Wilmington: 1119 Military Cutoff Road, 2804 S. College Road, 413 S. College Road, 2238 S. 17 th St. and at 1740 Airport Blvd. inside Wilmington International Airport.

    Another national chain sandwich, Subway, closed downtown in March . Subway still has about 20 other locations in Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender counties.
