Griswold Tigers Celebrate Best Baseball Season in Nearly a Decade
(Griswold, IA) – The Griswold Tigers baseball team saw a very successful season with multiple high points. While there were up and down moments, the Tigers captured four wins straight at the beginning of the season for the first time in nine years. Head Coach Ryan Lockwood was proud of the way that his boys finished the year and continued pushing the program forward.
Griswold Aims to Overcome Martensdale-St Marys in Regional Championship Tonight
(Griswold, IA) – Griswold softball was able to advance forward into postseason play after last Friday’s 8-0 shutout victory against Fremont Mills. Some highlights of the game were that the Tigers allowed no errors on the ballfield, made 30 plays on the field, the team hit .469 at the plate, and advanced into the state qualifier. Griswold is playing some of their best softball and Head Coach Jody Rossell is proud of the energy that these girls bring to the field in every ballgame.

Harlan Meets Lewis Central in the Baseball Substate Final
(Harlan, IA) – A berth in the baseball state tournament is on the line as the Titans of Lewis Central visit the Harlan Cyclones in the 3A Substate Final. Coverage on 95.7 KSOM and westerniowatoday.com. Harlan beat Carroll 11-3 and Creston 9-1 in the first 2 rounds of the substate tournament while Lewis Central blew out Glenwood 13-1 and last night upset #1 seed Bondurant-Farrar 5-4 in 11 innings. The game was played last night after getting rained out on Monday. Despite the late night, Harlan Baseball Head Coach Heath Stein knows the Titans will be ready to go tonight.
