LYNN HAVEN, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Nancy Garcia is in her third year at Mosley High School teaching art, but that’s not the only hat she wears.

From coaching tennis to playing a big part in the school’s upcoming project graduation, it’s apparent that the team always comes first.

“I always want to make sure that the team is not just well organized, but kind of like well-fed so that all aspects of the team are there to make it successful,” Garcia said. “I guess I feel like if I’m helping fill that need, that kind of completes the team and helps the ball roll as it should.”

When Mosley alumni return to campus, they don’t often remember the lessons taught in the classroom or on the court. Instead, they remember their time with Mrs. Garcia in a different light.

“Mrs. Garcia has been here now for several years, and so graduates that come back will always just remember ‘I love having Mrs. Garcia for art class, I love being on the tennis team with Mrs. Garcia.’ They just remember how she made them feel as a person,” Mosley High School Principal Brian Bullock said.

Art and tennis aren’t the only things Garcia is passionate about, there is something else that is arguably more important for her to teach.

“I try not only to teach art, but life skills,” added Garcia. “I feel like when I’m here, I can try and make a difference for them and I just like to be kind of like their hero if they don’t have one at home.”

It’s no secret who Garcia prioritizes first at Mosley.

“Just willing to jump in and do what is needed for the school and for the students,” Bullock went on to say.

Garcia makes it well known that she will always care for and watch over her students no matter what.

“I just want to make sure, regardless of my students in the room or on the court, that they’re being their best selves, and I’m supporting them the best I can,” Garcia said.

That’s what makes Nancy Garcia a Class Act.
