One person killed in head-on crash on Blewett Pass
BLEWETT PASS - One person is dead after Saturday's three-vehicle crash on Blewett Pass. According to a press memo, Saul Avila Valadez of Guanajuato, Mexico was going north on US 97 in a Nissan Altima at around 3:30 p.m. when he crossed the centerline and collided with two-oncoming full-sized Ford pick up trucks. Saul's passenger, 21-year-old Elmer Morales, died at the scene. Saul was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. No one else was hurt in the crash. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
