PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Reservoir Avenue School in Providence turns 100 years old this year, and a group of alumni from the 1940s and 1950s are organizing a reunion celebration for anyone who has ever attended the school.

The event will be held at 1:30 p.m. on June 14 in the school’s cafeteria and gymnasium.

At the celebration, there will be performances from current students, brief speeches about the school’s history and tours of the school and its classrooms.

Organizers said retired University of Rhode Island professor Scott Molloy has been researching the school, finding decades-old class photos, news stories and the original dedication plaque from 1924.

A website has been created in honor of the school’s major milestone featuring past photos of students, more on the school’s history and a survey to collect memories from former students.
