    Police warn of an alligator sighting in a Troup County lake

    HOGANSVILLE, Ga. (WRBL) — An alligator was spotted in a Troup County lake, according to the Hogansville Police Department.

    Police say the two-to-three foot alligator was seen in Lake Jimmy Jackson, where alligator sightings are considered uncommon.

    Residents are being encouraged to report any other sightings to the Hogansville Police Department. The Department of Natural Resources has been consulted.
