HSRZ Preview: Pickens Blue Flame

PICKENS, S.C. (WSPA) – With high school football just around the corner, the Pickens Blue Flame are previewed ahead of the 2024 season which kicks off on August 23.

Pickens Blue Flame:

2023 record: 1-9

Head Coach: James Reynolds, 2nd season

Brooks Dow (QB), Landon Pace (RB), Carter McCollum (RB), Kade Maxey (DL), Gavin Mock (DB)

Preview:

James Reynolds expects big changes in his second season with the Blue Flame beginning at quarterback, where 6-foot-4 sophomore Brooks Dow is now the starter and looks the part. Carter McCollum returns after a 1,400 yard season and is joined in the backfield by former quarterback Landon Pace while more of last year’s wide receivers return for the new pro-style attack with Dow.
