    6 arrested for kidnapping in Danbury

    DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Six people were arrested in Danbury on Sunday evening for kidnapping and assault, according to police.

    Witnesses say that three males exited a van on Clapboard Ridge Road near Dogwood Lane and began assaulting another man before pushing him into the van and driving off. The van was located on Cowperthwaite Street, where officers found two victim inside the van, both bound with duct tape and one assaulted with a baseball bat.

    Four of the suspects were taken into custody near Cowperwaithe Street, with two more being arrested at a short-term rental home in Roxbury, according to Danbury police.

    The suspects are all Florida residents:

    • Angel Borrero, 23
    • Reynaldo Diaz, 22
    • Anthony Pena, 23
    • Josue Romero, 26
    • Ricardo Estrada, 21
    • Michael Rivas, 18

    The victims appear to be specifically targeted, but the motive has not yet been determined by police. The investigation is ongoing.
