WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — As Easter Sunday approaches, one local zoo continues hosting various fun activities for all ages.

Many families made their way out to the Oglebay Good Zoo this weekend to participate in all the Easter activities they had to offer.

Upon arriving, kids were given a basket to store all the candy and goodies that they found hidden throughout the zoo.

The Easter Bunny also made an appearance this weekend to hand out sweet treats to everyone who came to visit.

The director of the Good Zoo shares how much fun this weekend is and how the animals benefit as well.

It’s exciting to see the little kids excited when they see the Easter Bunny, when they get their basket, when they get their candy. You see lots of kids eating candy as they’re walking around the zoo on days like today. The animals all winter long since Festival of Lights really haven’t seen a lot of guests. So, on a day like today, when we have a lot of guests coming through, and yesterday when there were tons of guests coming through, they’re able to see them and get to interact with them and it’s exciting for the animals also.

Dr. Joe Greathouse – Director, Oglebay Good Zoo

Tomorrow, Oglebay will host its 96th annual Easter Sunrise Service at the Anne Kuchinka Amphitheater for everyone to come out and enjoy.
