Homicide victim identified in Springfield stabbing

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Officials have identified the victim of a deadly stabbing that occurred early Sunday morning.

According to the Hampden County DA’s Office, at approximately 3:10 a.m. on August 11, Springfield Police received reports of a stabbing at the intersection of State and Terrence Streets.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male suffering from stab wounds. The victim was brought to Baystate Medical Center but later died from his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Efrain Cosme , 32. His last known address is currently unknown.

The Springfield Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and is seeking any information that could assist in solving the case.
