Two teens arrested in connection with Springfield shooting on Oswego Street

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two teenagers were arrested in connection with a shooting on Oswego Street in Springfield.

According to the Springfield Police Department, at around 3:45 a.m., officers were called to Oswego Street for a report of shots fired. It was discovered that a kitchen window was shot.

Nearly an hour later, officers arrested two suspects, 19-year-old Abdiel Urena of Springfield and a 17-year-old boy, in the area of the 400 block of Main Street. A loaded large-capacity firearm was found in Urena’s jacket pocket.

Abdiel Urena is charged with the following:

• Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building
• Carrying a Firearm without a License
• Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
• Possession of a High-Capacity Magazine/Feeding Device
• Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
• Defacing Property
• Possession of a Class C Drug

The Springfield Police did not release the name and charges of the 17-year-old boy due to his age.
