The University of Colorado has decided to ride out the “Prime Effect”. CU has closed a deal with SMAC Entertainment to continue the “Coach Prime” documentary series on Amazon Video. The series shows off Coach Prime and how he is changing the football program at Colorado.

The university acknowledges the immense promotional value this series brings, especially as it shines a national spotlight on the Boulder campus. Notably, this arrangement is unique within the landscape of college sports, offering extensive filming access on campus without direct monetary compensation to the university. Instead, the exposure generated by the series is deemed a worthwhile exchange. The latest contract largely mirrors the previous season's agreement, which chronicled Sanders' debut year at Colorado.

SMAC Productions retains exclusive rights to all television and documentary content related to Sanders and the CU football program, limiting the university's ability to produce similar content. However, Colorado retains the ability to produce non-serialized audiovisual content that doesn't compete with the series. As the Buffaloes prepare for the upcoming season, their season opener against North Dakota State is slated for August 29.
