How Much Can Commanders Rely On Martavis Bryant?

    By Nick Faria,

Martavis Bryant hasn't played in an NFL game since 2018. Suspensions, injuries, and more have kept him off of the gameday fields over the last few years, but that doesn't mean the league is ready to quit on the former fourth-rounder.

The Washington Commanders signed Brant to their roster this week - a sign that they are still looking for depth at their receiver position opposite Terry McLaurin.

Bryant maybe 32 years old now, but his 6-4 frame makes him an enticing prospect for any organization looking to get better in the red zone.

So how much can the Commanders rely on the veteran?

Figuring out expectations for Bryant this season is hard because there is no guarantee he will even be on the 53-man roster by the time the season starts.

Still, though, there is an opening for Bryant to not only make the team but be productive as well. Olamide Zaccheaus, Dyami Brown, Bryant, and Jamison Crowder are all players who can help Washington's passing offense from a depth perspective.

If Bryant can be one of the final six - that means beating out one of these other three, he could potentially be a solid special teams player and in-game specialist for Washington if they want to improve their red zone offense.

People may be skeptical about what the Commanders can do with Bryant this season, but the upside appears to still be there.
