After adding the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners this offseason, the SEC garnered attention nationwide. However, Rece Davis highlighted another SEC team on a recent episode of the " College GameDay Podcast ."

Davis and Pete Thamel listed some teams they believed would make the 12-team playoff. They shared which teams would take the five conference championship spots, then the seven teams holding the at-large spots.

Davis was high on the Ole Miss Rebels. He predicted that Lane Kiffin and company would have a "sensational" 2024 season.

The Rebels have plenty of talent returning, including quarterback Jaxson Dart, wide receiver Tre Harris, tight end Caden Prieskorn, and wide receiver Jordan Watkins.

"I think Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss have a sensational season," Davis said. "Jaxson Dart is back. They've got, depending on how you count it, about 20 starters coming back. Dart threw for over 3,300 yards, he can run the ball. They're good at running back, even without Quinshon Judkins, with Ulysses Bentley coming back. ...I think Ole Miss is going to have a great year."

On top of the returning talent for Ole Miss, the program's transfer portal hauls were also impressive.

Some of the top portal commitments include former Florida Gators edge rusher Princely Umanmielen, former South Carolina Gamecocks WR Juice Wells, former Texas A&M Aggies defensive lineman Walter Nolen, and former Miami Hurricanes running back Henry Parrish.

Parrish heads into his second stint with Ole Miss in 2024. Parrish was a former four-star RB in the 2020 class, per the On3 Industry Rankings . He spent two seasons in Oxford before joining Miami in 2022. The former Miami RB had a career-high 625 rushing yards last season.

Kiffin achieved a massive milestone for the program last season. Ole Miss won 11 games for the first time in program history in 2023 after beating the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Peach Bowl.

The Rebels open the year with the Furman Paladins on Aug. 31.
