The Ole Miss Rebels have high expectations this season. They are preseason ranked No. 6, their highest preseason ranking since 1970.

The Rebels are aiming for a stronger season than their 1970 record of 7-4 when they finished ranked No. 20 in the country. This year, Ole Miss is determined to reach the College Football Playoff for the first time.

ESPN's Paul Finebaum believes Ole Miss stands to lose the most in the SEC. If the Rebels fail to meet expectations, head coach Lane Kiffin may seek employment elsewhere.

"If this season doesn't work out, then the wondering coach will start to wonder again," Finebaum said.

Kiffin has been a head coach at four schools: the Tennessee Volunteers, USC Trojans, Florida Atlantic Owls and the Ole Miss Rebels. He is entering his fifth season at Ole Miss, which would exceed his tenure at USC as the longest he has been head coach at any school.

Kiffin and Ole Miss have seemingly gone all in during the last three seasons. The Rebels have been very active in the transfer portal, consistently landing a top-two class each year, including last season's No. 1 class. As a result, the expectations are incredibly high. Finebaum believes the fans should be prepared for the repercussions if Ole Miss falls short.
