Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has continued to improve throughout her WNBA rookie season. Averaging 24.0 points, 8.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds since the Olympic break, Clark has led Indiana to a 5-1 record and their first playoff berth since 2016.

This level of play from Clark has strengthened her WNBA Rookie of the Year case. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has also been in that discussion for most of the season, as the former LSU star has broken numerous records with her rebounding and double-doubles.

In a huge announcement from the WNBA on Wednesday, September 4, the league revealed that Clark had been named Player of the Month for August.

Also winning WNBA Rookie of the Month, Clark swept the league's accolades for August. Indiana's star rookie joined Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier who won Player of the Month in the Western Conference.

With her Player of the Month honors, Clark made WNBA history be becoming the first rookie to ever win the award.

While Clark's numbers were fantastic in August, her team's success has really separated her from other top rookies.

Winning five of six games since the WNBA schedule resumed, Indiana has gone up six games in the standings on Chicago. Having lost seven-straight games, the Sky are tied with the Atlanta Dream for the eighth and final spot in the WNBA playoff picture as of writing.

Adding more history to her list of WNBA accomplishments, Clark continues to meet the unprecedented hype she entered the league with.

Having now clinched a playoff spot, Clark and the Fever will look to improve their seeding between now and their regular season finale on September 19.
