Startup St. Bernard Application Deadline is July 5
CHALMETTE, La. – The entry period is open for the 10th annual Startup St. Bernard competition presented by the St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation. Startup St. Bernard seeks out “dedicated, enthusiastic entrepreneurs” who want to grow their business to the next level. Entrepreneurs are invited to apply for the opportunity to pitch their business to a panel of judges. The entry period closes at noon Friday, July 5.
Nunez Hosts Completion Ceremony for Dual Enrollment Bridge Program and Summer Career Exploration
Nunez Community College hosted a completion ceremony for its Dual Enrollment Bridge Program and Summer Career Exploration June 27 on the Nunez campus. The sister programs, which were offered for free thanks to Perkins Grant funding, are focused on equipping high school students with the soft skills to be successful in their next steps toward both higher education and careers. The Bridge Program emphasizes higher education for students who anticipate taking Dual Enrollment courses at Nunez during high school, while Summer Career Exploration emphasizes the variety of careers available locally.

City Park, New Orleans Saints to Upgrade Pan American Stadium
NEW ORLEANS – City Park Conservancy has begun making upgrades to Pan American Stadium. The renovation, which will be completed in three phases, is expected to cost $3.1 million and will be funded by the New Orleans Saints, FEMA and private donors. Last week, CPC and the City Park Improvement Association approved the renovation plan for the 4,500-seat facility at separate board meetings.
