Here's why Slidell's softball coach stepped down after two successful seasons
Slidell announced on July 23 that softball coach Darin Moore has stepped down after two seasons to pursue other teaching and coaching opportunities. “It was an extremely hard decision, especially with all the work that the girls have put in over the last two years,” Moore said. “They have eight returning starters coming back. You’ve got (Bailey) Mackles back pitching. They are going to be a really solid team. Getting the lights put up at the field was big. The locker room will be finished this fall. There are a lot of great things going on at Slidell, but at the end of the day, it just came down to family and being close to them.”

Teen boy arrested, accused of raping child in Napoleonville
NAPOLEONVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) — A 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged with rape after an investigation in Napoleonville. The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office reports on June 21, deputies were notified of a complaint regarding the alleged rape of a child multiple times. The offenses were reportedly committed at a home on Marshall Lane, according to the sheriff’s office.
