HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A man has been arrested Thursday after deputies say he drunkenly assaulted multiple people at a Quality Inn in Evansville.

According to an affidavit acquired by Eyewitness News, Evansville deputies responded to an assault in progress at a Quality Inn on Elpers Road. There, police made contact with two victims outside the hotel, both with injuries.

Deputies say they then located the attacker in a hotel room and identified him as Stuart Cater. Deputies then arrested Cater.

Later, victims told deputies that Cater had been drinking and drove to a gas station to get more beer. They went on to say that once Cater returned to the hotel parking lot, they tried to take his car keys away. Thats when victims say Cater attacked them.

Deputies say security footage showed Cater chasing one of the victims into the hotel and beating them in front of a juvenile. They say the footage also showed Cater striking a woman at least two times when she attempted to use a phone.
