HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – An Evansville attorney is facing DUI charges after he allegedly crashed into a Vanderburgh County deputy’s cruiser.

According to an affidavit, Glenn Grampp, 76, hit the deputy’s car while in a parking lot. The deputy that was hit says Grampp showed signs of impairment that included stumbling, slurred speech and an odor of alcohol.

Grampp allegedly told deputies he did consume alcohol before the incident but thought he was still good enough to drive.

Deputies say Grampp could not do field sobriety tests and a BAC test showed a .25 level, more than three times the legal limit. A later chemical test showed a .268 level.

Grampp was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail and released on a $1,000 bond. Deputies state Grampp has had previous convictions of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated.

Grampp has been the defense attorney in several high-profile cases in the Evansville area including the trial for Mateo Rodriguez in 2023, Austin Kusturin this year and Terrence Roach in 2018.
