OC woman accused of biting girl, kicking officer
Nicole Jones, a 41-year-old woman from Oil City, is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, for attacking and biting a teenage girl, and kicking a police officer during her arrest. The incident occurred on Sunday on Colbert Avenue, where police found Jones chasing a boy, who reported she had bitten him. Jones, incoherent and injured, was accused of punching, pulling the hair, and biting a 15-year-old girl, requiring medical attention. During her arrest, Jones resisted and kicked an officer, leading to her being dragged to the police cruiser. Franklin man gets prison time for Halloween party assault
Shawn Michael Latchaw, a 29-year-old man from Franklin, has been sentenced to three to 10 years in prison for aggravated indecent assault and an additional six months to two years for indecent assault without consent. The charges stem from an incident at a Halloween party in Sandycreek Township last year. The victim reported being assaulted by Latchaw after being offered a place to sleep at the party. Security footage, reviewed by the victim’s cousin, confirmed the assault and was handed over to the police. Latchaw was found guilty in April and sentenced by Venango County Senior Judge Robert L. Boyer.
