Titusville’s $28 million water well replacement prep continues
Titusville City Council received an update from City Manager Neil Fratus on a $28 million water well replacement project, involving discussions with Pleasantville Borough and Oil Creek Township and preparations for PENNVEST funding. An inspection revealed multiple violations with the city’s 1902 artesian wells, necessitating significant upgrades. Council also awarded the trash hauling contract to Tri-County Industries, which includes e-waste and household hazardous waste collection, and reported a clean annual audit. OC temporary traffic pattern change starts next week
Starting Monday, Oil City will implement a temporary traffic change to facilitate work on the Western New York and Pennsylvania Railroad tracks across Elm Street. Normally one-way, traffic will shift to two-way on Seneca Street between Sycamore Street and Veterans Memorial Bridge, Elm Street near McDonald’s and the police department, and Sycamore Street between Elm and Seneca Streets. No parking will be allowed on Sycamore Street. Flashing red lights will replace traffic signals, and stop signs will control key intersections. Despite the ongoing Veterans Bridge preservation project, access to all businesses will remain open. Drivers are advised to proceed cautiously and follow all signage. The project is scheduled to last one week, weather permitting.
Touch-A-Truck Event to Be Held on Central Avenue on Thursday
OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — The always popular Touch-A-Truck will be held at the Central Avenue Plaza in Oil City on Thursday during the Oil Heritage Festival.
