Children’s bike rodeo set Aug. 3 in Titusville
PennDOT and its safety partners will host a free children’s bicycle rodeo on Saturday, August 3, at Titusville City Hall. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with activities from 10 a.m. to noon. The event aims to promote bicycling, educate kids on safety, and develop safe biking habits. Children aged 5 to 12 can participate, and must bring a bicycle, helmet, and a parent or guardian to sign a permission slip. Activities will teach safety skills, and Titusville police will inspect helmets and bikes. The rodeo coincides with the launch of Titusville’s bicycle registration program to help identify and return lost or stolen bikes. A drawing for two free bicycles and a limited number of free helmets will be offered, along with a free hot dog lunch.

Four Pennsylvania residents have been brought up on serious charges of violating federal firearms and narcotics laws, as announced by United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan. The indictment, served by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh, includes allegations of unlawful possession with the intent to distribute significant quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin, as well as firearm possession by convicted felons. Erie Man to Spend Time in Prison for Jeep Raffle Scam
An Erie man who was convicted of running what turned out to be a fake raffle for a new Jeep will spend time behind bars. A judge on Tuesday sentenced Preston Devenney, 55, to serve two years, six months to six years in prison and order him to pay $19,650 in restitution.
