BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — A woman is facing charges after police say she was involved in a crash that killed a man two years ago.

Madisyn Heidt, who was 18 at the time, is being charged with negligent homicide.

The crash happened two years ago, along East Bismarck Expressway. Police say that around 11:15 p.m. on August 27, 2022, Scott Culver was riding a motorcycle and being followed by his wife. They added that Heidt swerved into Culver’s lane and her front tire hit the saddlebag on his bike, pushing him to the right.

Investigators continued on to say that Culver couldn’t maintain control and hit a light pole, killing him. Heidt was then rear-ended by Culver’s wife in the crash.

Heidt was in court on Friday, where her bond was set at $5,000. She has a preliminary hearing next month.

On Monday, Heidt was appointed an attorney. Her trial is currently scheduled for December 17.
