1 injured after crash at New Circle and North Broadway involving moped

UPDATE: Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 5:20 p.m.

According to the Lexington Police Department, officers were dispatched to an injury collision involving a pickup truck and a moped.

Police say that the driver of the moped was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, the department said.

The roadway is back open, but an investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 4:30 p.m.

All lanes of New Circle Road at North Broadway are now open after a collision halted traffic in the area on Tuesday.

Lexwrecks reported on social media that all lanes on the outer loop of New Circle Road at North Broadway are shut down and traffic is backed up as of 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officials asked that drivers avoid the outer loop of New Circle between Old Paris and Broadway if possible.
