Three-star wide receiver Rahim Hutchins Jr. has committed to Memphis football, he announced Friday.

Hutchins — from Shadow Creek High School in Pearland, Texas — is ranked as the No. 70 receiver in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.

"When I got there (for an official visit in June), it was mind-blowing," Hutchins told The Commercial Appeal. "It felt right, it felt like home. The coaching staff was nice, the players were nice, everybody was nice. And I feel like they can make me into a better man."

Memphis will have plenty of receiving production to replace after this season, when Roc Taylor and Koby Drake will both exhaust their eligibility. The first commit of the 2025 class was three-star receiver Xavier Johnson, and coach Ryan Silverfield also secured a commitment from three-star receiver Andrew Leslie.

Hutchins caught 17 passes for 378 yards and five touchdowns in 2023, according to MaxPreps. The Tigers will also have a new quarterback in 2025, but four-star Antwann Hill Jr. committed last month.

The highest-ranked recruit in the 2024 recruiting class was four-star Keonde Henry, a Lake Dallas native who could factor into the Tigers receiver room this season.

The 6-foot, 160-pound Hutchins touts his deep threat ability, but said he wants to work on a few things during his final season of high school.

"I want to improve my agility and my elusiveness," he said. "That's really everything I've got. I have route running, I have the speed."

Hutchins chose Memphis over Houston and Nebraska, but also had interest from Michigan State, Texas Tech and UCF.

What does he want Tigers fans to know about him?

"Don't blink," he said. "I'm fast, I'm a playmaker. You throw the ball up to me, I'm going to catch it. That's what it is."
