The Department of Public Works (DPW) installed Flood Gate 1 (at Mulberry and East Mississippi Drive) Tuesday morning as the Mississippi River continues to rise. Flood Gate 2 (East 2nd Street at Mad Creek) was closed this afternoon due to high water in Mad Creek and the prediction of up to five inches of rainfall this evening and overnight according to City officials.

AMES, Iowa – America’s SBDC Iowa (SBDC) has announced that Elizabeth Christensen is the new Regional Director for the Iowa Western SBDC at Iowa Western Community College, located in Council Bluffs. Elizbeth Christensen will advise and train entrepreneurs and existing business owners in Pottawattamie, Shelby, Harrison, Page, Mills, Cass and Fremont counties. Elizabeth started in early June and is excited to continue supporting western Iowa businesses.
