Russell Wilson stepped into the boxing ring for a training session with the legendary Freddie Roach on Tuesday, and the first thing fans noticed was the veteran quarterback's incredible body transformation.

    Wilson looked jacked.

There's clearly some added motivation for the nine-time Pro Bowler after he was released by the Denver Broncos in the offseason. He signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers in a year that could potentially change how he's viewed in the NFL.

Is he still a starting quarterback capable of taking a team to a Super Bowl? Or at 35 years old, is he the transitional veteran who serves as a placeholder for the next guy?

Wilson isn't training like the answer is the latter.

"Back in the Ring. Started in 2018 through 2020. Had some of my best years. Then COVID hit in 2020 and couldn’t go back in. Good to see my guys again [Freddie] Roach & Marvin Somodio," Wilson posted on X.

There was plenty of excitement from fans on social media after seeing Wilson's post. One fan commented, "Russ looking big."

"Future gonna be real quiet this season," another fan joked.

One fan posted a row of bicep emojis after saying, "My quarterback!"

"[Ciara] Girl… look at your bae," another fan said.

"Looking strong, Russ," one fan commented.

Wilson is going to a Steelers team with solid offensive talent, but they have struggled due to a lack of consistency at the quarterback position. That has prompted some concerns that a quarterback who appears to be in the twilight of his career isn't the right option for the team.

It would be wrong to dump all of the Broncos' issues in Wilson's lap. They didn't get the production they wanted out of the rushing attack, and their top-two receivers, Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton, failed to break out the way the team had hoped.

There was enough blame to go around.

Wilson finished the year with 3,070 passing yards, 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He wasn't a turnover machine, but he always failed to make the sort of game-changing plays he was known for in his run with the Seattle Seahawks.

Perhaps a bigger, stronger version of Wilson can change the narrative in the late stages of his NFL career.
