Police: 2 stabbed, 3 children abducted in Virginia

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — One adult and one child have serious injuries after being stabbed Wednesday night in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and an Amber Alert has been issued after three children were abducted by the stabbing suspect, police said.

Virginia Beach police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 900 block of Jay Are Court around 8:48 p.m., and when they arrived, they learned of the two stabbing victims, both of whom were taken to the hospital.

Ricky LaBlue, a Virginia Beach Police Department spokesperson, said at the scene that “it’s serious, not critical injuries at the moment, but again, this is very recent, so things are very volatile.”

Police also said 36-year-old Dana Demetrius Plummer abducted three children — 5-year-old Zayin Plummer, 3-year-old Zayir Plummer and 1-year-old Za’riyah Plummer — after allegedly stabbing their mother. He left with the children in a black 2024 Honda Passport SUV with Virginia temporary tag 37550R and headed in an unknown direction, police said.

Dana Plummer is described as a 5-foot-9, 165-pound Black man with black hair and brown eyes. Police are asking that anyone who has seen him or has information on his whereabouts should contact a VBPD missing persons detective at 757-385-4101.

Virginia State Police issued the Amber Alert for the three children around 2 a.m. Thursday.

The children all have brown eyes and brown hair.

• Zayir Plummer is about 4 feet, weighs 100 pounds and was last seen wearing gray pants and a black jacket.
• Zayin Plummer is about 4 feet, weighs 100 pounds and was last seen wearing rust-colored pants and a light blue shirt.
• Za’riyah Plummer is about 2 feet, weighs 40 pounds and was last seen wearing pink tights and a Trolls dress.

State police said the children are believed to be in extreme danger.
