The Phoenix Mercury are set to host Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Sunday for the first matchup between Clark and Diana Taurasi. Clark's popularity has brought millions of new viewers to the WNBA, and Mercury head coach Nate Tibbetts recently spoke on what he expects in terms of the Phoenix crowd on June 30th.

"It's funny. Obviously, the crowd on Sunday will have a certain feel to it. I've just absolutely been amazed by our crowds through the first eight games at home... There will be a different vibe on Sunday," said Tibbetts via Desert Wave Media on X.

Phoenix is likely favored in the matchup, given its homecourt advantage and offensive prowess in facing the league's worst defensive-rated team.

The Mercury currently stand at No. 4 in the Western Conecrnec standings with an 8-8 record. Indiana is the No. 5 team in the Eastern Conference with a 7-11 record.

All eyes will be on the primetime matchup between what many view as the past and future with Taurasi and Clark.

Tibbetts believes Clark's hype will draw a "different vibe" on Sunday, which should be expected with the millions of television viewers she's already earned for the Fever.
