Plantation, FL - A Plantation woman faces child neglect charges after police found her three children unattended in their home on Wednesday.

Police say 36-year-old Linda St. Leger reportedly left for work the night before, leaving her 10-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son responsible for their 2-year-old brother.

The situation came to light when a concerned citizen called 911 after spotting the toddler wandering the neighborhood with a dog around midnight.

Officers arrived at the residence to find all three children alone.

The 2-year-old, located a quarter-mile away, was found with a soiled diaper.

Police reported concerning conditions inside the house, including an unsanitary environment with dog waste on the floor, a lack of edible food, and an excessively high temperature of 91 degrees Fahrenheit.

St. Leger's attorney argued she faced a work emergency, but prosecutors emphasized the danger the children were in.

The judge set bond at $15,000 with no contact with the victims until further court proceedings.

The children are currently in their father's care.
