Pedestrian fatally struck in Wauconda identified, Lake County Sheriff's Office says
A pedestrian was struck and killed in Wauconda Wednesday night, authorities said.Lake County Sheriff's deputies responded at about 9 p.m. to Route 12 and Old Rand Road in unincorporated Wauconda and found a 39-year-old man from Arlington Heights critically injured after being hit by a car.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watchThe man did not have a pulse and a deputy performed CPR and the man regained a pulse before being transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, where he later died.He was later identified as 39-year-old Pablo Campuzano-Reynoso of Arlington Heights by the Lake County Coroner's Office.The sheriff's office said a Toyota Camry driven by a 68-year-old McHenry man was driving north on Route 12 when the pedestrian was crossing the road.The sheriff's office said the Camry driver did not see the pedestrian and struck him. The Camry driver was not injured.Lake County Sheriff's Office Technical Crash Investigations Team is investigating the crash.

Three separate shootings between Monday night and Tuesday afternoon have rattled the Evanston community this week. Police arrested a suspect in the Monday night shooting, but charges have yet to be filed. In all, four Evanston residents between 34 and 50 suffered non-life-threatening wounds and are in stable condition. The two shootings on the 1700 block of Dempster Street “might stem from separate ongoing disputes,” the Police Department said. “At this time, the motive for the Dodge Street shooting is unknown.” Cmdr. Ryan Glew told the RoundTable that all three incidents were “not random acts,” which is why police “don’t feel that there’s a continued threat to the public.”
