Driver killed after running red light, struck by SUV in Archer Heights
CHICAGO (CBS) — A driver was killed early Sunday morning after running a red light and was hit by an SUV on the city's Southwest Side.The crash happened just after 1:30 a.m. in the 3600 block of West 47th Street in Archer Heights.Chicago police say the driver, only identified as a male, was traveling southbound in a silver sedan when he disregarded a traffic light and entered the intersection. At this time, the white SUV, also driven by a male, traveling northbound struck the sedan. The sedan driver suffered severe trauma from the crash. He was treated by fire crews who arrived on the scene. He was taken to Mt. Sinai, where he died.It's unclear if the SUV driver was hurt in the crash.The Major Accident Investigation Unit was investigating.

Two shot inside Englewood restaurant, Chicago police say
CHICAGO (CBS) — Two men are hurt after a shooting inside a restaurant in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood Saturday afternoon. According to the Chicago Police Department, a 34-year-old man was inside the restaurant, Shack Seafood and Steak, in the 7300 block of South Halsted Street around 4:30 p.m. when a 33-year-old man walked in and shot him in the face and arm. Then, a third man, 34, pulled out a gun and shot the first shooter in the thigh and the back. The first victim was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center and was initially reported in serious condition. The two suspected shooters were taken in for questioning. Two weapons were recovered after the incident, and police are investigating.
