Drug arrest follows month-long investigation

More than a month ago, detectives from Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Unit started an investigation into potential trafficking of the drug called crystal methamphetamine or “ice.”

Detectives were tracking the activities of Marion Dajuan Feaster of Kannapolis. During the month-long investigation, detectives made multiple purchases of trafficking levels of the drug from Feaster in Rowan and Cabarrus Counties. On Monday, July 22, Feaster was arrested after attempting to deliver approximately 256 grams of crystal methamphetamine to a buyer in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store.

Feaster was charged with multiple counts of trafficking in methamphetamine as well as with possession of a schedule III controlled substance, possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resist/delay/obstruct a public officer.

At the time of his arrest, Feaster was out on bond from Stanly, Cabarrus and Mecklenburg counties on unrelated charges. After being processed, Feaster was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center and was held without bond due to the Pretrial Integrity Act. Feaster’s prior criminal convictions include sell/deliver cocaine, attempted second degree kidnapping, attempted common law robbery and felony breaking and/or entering. Feaster has also served 82 months in the Federal Bureau of Prisons as the result of a federal firearms violation and was released in October 2022.

The RCSO Special Investigation Unit was assisted by the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and the Patrol and Civil Divisions of the RCSO during the investigation.

The investigations that led to Feaster’s recent arrest will be reviewed for federal prosecution in United States District Court – Middle District of North Carolina.
