A well-known NASCAR Xfinity Series organization has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. According to public records, JD Motorsports filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in South Carolina on April 8, 2024. William Penn is representing JD Motorsports from the Penn Law Firm as the organization navigates through the situation.

According to TobyChristie.com, JD Motorsports laid off staff members on Monday morning . This comes after JD Motorsports withdrew the No. 6 Xfinity car from the race weekend at Pocono Raceway. TobyChristie.com also reports that JD Motorsports “intends” to enter a car into the Xfinity Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

This is a massive development for JD Motorsports, which made its Xfinity Series debut in 1983. It’s unclear what the future holds for the NASCAR organization, but it could represent the end of a long and storied history in the Xfinity Series. JD Motorsports has never won a race in its 27-year history, with only seven top-5 finishes in 1,650 starts.
