Commanders training camp breakout listed as trade candidate by NFL analyst

The Washington Commmanders could be one of those teams working the trade block ahead of final cuts, though whether they act as buyers or sellers is hard to say.

For one NFL analyst, though, selling on a piece of the offense might make the most sense as the team resets around No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels.

Bleacher Report’s Ryan Fowler recently listed one player who should be on the trade block for each team and named wide receiver Dyami Brown for the Commanders:

“Away from a two-touchdown outing against the Titans in 2022, Brown has remained uninvolved in a rather underwhelming passing attack. While the team has consistently searched high and low for consistent production at the position away from Terry McLaurin, Brown has found himself on the outside looking in as the season approaches.”

What’s interesting about the wideout spot is that Brown might just be safer than former first-round pick Jahan Dotson at this point.

Brown, a third-rounder in 2021, has already turned two preseason catches into 55 yards, with one of those a huge linkup with Daniels. He’s been a staple of buzz items coming out of camp, too, so there’s a chance he’s got a big role in a new offense around the rookie passer.

Dotson, on the other hand, has struggled through multiple systems in Washington already and is only just getting in gear as a possible starter from the slot for Daniels.

As always, the Commanders would be foolish not at least to pick up the phone and listen to offers from other teams. But one has to imagine the team will keep a stockpile of weapons around Daniels and focus trade attention elsewhere as 53-man roster cuts approach.
