On Monday, Ludacris , whose real name is Christopher Bridges, shared a video of himself sampling glacier water in Alaska on Instagram .

It seemed that he wanted to show social media that he had H20 in different area codes .

In the short clip , the Fast & Furious star, 46, stood on the bank of a glacier in front of a lake created by the water that had melted from the large ice formation.

He told his fans, “Listen man, half the world’s glaciers are here in Alaska.

“I couldn’t come here and just have a show.”

“You know I got a bucket list or as I like to call it the ‘f**k it list,'” he added.

Ludacris then moved toward the body of water and continued, “I’ve never tasted fresh glacial water ever in my life – and this is a first.”

“Here we go!” the actor exclaimed as he dipped a thermos into the clear water.

Once filled, he lifted the thermos to his mouth and took a long swig.

Pleased with the taste, Ludacris yelled, “Oh, my god” and ran back from the edge of the glacier as the video came to an end.

He captioned the post,” Water So Good It Tastes Like GOD Made It. Well, Because He Did.”

In the comment section, one fan wrote, “That was ludicrous.”

“Bro gon discover some ancient disease,” warned a second.

“You are so damn right!” agreed another as a fourth commenter joked, “The chest-burster is coming,” referencing one of the creatures from the Alien film series.

A worried fan exclaimed, “Be careful with glacier water!

Yo, for everybody asking me how that glacier water really tasted – and when I tell y’all I’m a water snob – it was the best tasting water I’ve ever had in my life.

“Even though it looks fresh and clean, it’s often full of bacteria, parasites, and viruses… Microorganisms you definitely don’t want in your system.

“It can make you extremely sick. Make sure to boil it first to stay safe!”

Per an article from Outside Magazine in 2018, last updated in 2022, there is human fecal matter in glacial water.

Michael Loso, a geologist with the National Parks Service and author of the 2012 study Glacial Transport of Human Waste and Survival of Fecal Bacteria , told the outlet the research points toward the fecal matter and bacteria lasting indefinitely when buried in ice.

Therefore, drinking glacial water straight from the source would likely include ingesting fecal matter and bacteria.

The US National Parks Service (NPS) also recommends against drinking water from a natural source that hasn’t been filtered or purified.

The NPS website explained, “Water in a stream, river, or lake may look clean, but it can still be filled with bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can result in waterborne diseases, such as cryptosporidiosis or giardiasis.

“It is essential that you purify natural water.”

    HEATH UPDATE

Ludacris responded to fans’ questions and concerns about the unfiltered glacial water in an X post later that same day.

He captioned the post, “I see some of you asking about the glacier water from my previous post.”

In a video taken from inside his hotel bathroom, the Roll Out rapper told fans, “Yo, for everybody asking me how that glacier water really tasted – and when I tell y’all I’m a water snob – it was the best tasting water I’ve ever had in my life.

“As I drank it, it felt like every cell in my human body was being hydrated and rejuvenated at the same damn time.”

He continued, “Listen man, I’m here. I feel like Superman.”

In the post’s comment section, one fan joked, “Reporting live from the bathroom lol.”

“Ok we need another update in 48 hours,” commented another.

“Mmmm, bacteria water,” remarked a third.
