A 46-year-old man was enjoying his chicken sandwich as he drove in Washington, police said.

But the drive turned dangerous when he dropped it.

The driver reached to pick up his sandwich and ended up crashing into a pole and flipping his vehicle, the Vancouver Police Department said in a July 10 Facebook post.

“Yes, that is 100% what actually happened,” police said.

Police responded to the incident at about 10:25 p.m. that night and found the man with minor injuries and with no signs of impairment, police spokesperson Kim Kapp told McClatchy News.

He wasn’t cited for distracted driving, but his insurance information was collected, Kapp said.

“There are many forms of distracted driving, so please put the phone down and don’t reach for the sandwich on the floor!” police said in the post.

Driver flips after wiping away spider web

Another driver rolled her vehicle when she tried to swipe a spider web away, McClatchy News reported.

The 16-year-old driver, who had gotten her license two months prior, crashed at 8:24 p.m. July 5 in Vancouver, police said.

When her car rolled, she crashed into several parked cars, police said.

Police said “texting and driving is suspected,” but it did not appear that a citation was issued.

Vancouver is near the Washington-Oregon border, about a 10-mile drive north from Portland, Oregon.
