Williston Park Patriots College Team Wins Championship
Congratulations to the Williston Park Patriots College baseball team for winning their second championship in three years. The Half Hollows College Championship in Dix Hills was played on Saturday August 2nd against the Huntington Demons. The team finished first this season and defeated Huntington in the championship game 3-2. Alex Marcoline pitched 6 innings and Patrick Gay shut it down in the 7th. Emmett O’Brien had a two run single to tie the game at 2-2 after one inning. A pitching duel ensued along with some great defense, including right fielder Malachy O’Brien throwing out a runner at home and then another runner at third to keep Huntington off the board. In the last inning Conor Martin drew a walk and stole second. He advanced to third on infield hit by Matt Bravo. With two outs, Luke Sommese beat out an infield hit as Conor Martin scored the winning run. Coaches Bill O'Brien and Chris Bravo worked hard to support these players all season. Most of the players on the team got their start playing in the Williston Park Little League. This is the second win for the team in two years, they won in 2022 and now 2024 title.
Cross Country Drops 2024 Schedule
NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College cross country teams officially revealed their schedule for the 2024 season Wednesday afternoon. The Knights start their season at Adelphi University for a meet on September 6 th at 2:30 PM in Bethpage, NY. They follow this up with a meet hosted by Manhattanville University at Twin Ponds on the Farm on September 14 th at 10:30 AM. The Knights travel back to Bethpage on September 21 st for a meet held by St. Joseph’s Long Island at 11:00 AM. Mount Saint Mary hosts their only meet of the season at the…
Registration for Youth Ice Hockey program
Registration for the Town of Oyster Bay’s 2024 Fall/Winter Youth Ice Hockey Program will begin soon. The program features a House League, which includes full House League games, a practice schedule, and playoffs for boys and girls in the 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14/16U age groups. Clinics spanning 10 weeks in duration are also available, including all girls clinics, 6U clinics, adult learn to play clinics and advanced skill clinics. Programs will begin on September 27.
