An Amber Alert that was issued for a 4-year-old North Carolina boy has been canceled, according to the NC Center for Missing Persons.

According to reports from WTVD , Brandis Tyrone Smith, Jr. was abducted Friday afternoon from his father at gunpoint in Morrisville.

An investigation was launched, and it was revealed that his mother, 29-year-old Deneshia Williams, was behind the alleged abduction.

Williams was also accused of pointing a gun at the child’s father during the abduction, according to WTVD .

Saturday morning, the NC Center for Missing Persons announced that the Amber Alert for Smith had been canceled.
