Barnesville , OHIO ( WTRF ) – An Ohio pharmacy was raided on Tuesday by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

According to Martin Redd, Diversion Program Manager for the DEA’s Detroit Field Division, a search warrant was executed at the Corner Pharmacy in Barnesville .

After speaking with the owner, Charles “Chip” Terrett, the owner voluntarily surrendered his DEA Registration Number. That means he can no longer sell controlled substances at the pharmacy.

Around 5:00 pm Tuesday, the DEA could be seen removing controlled substances from the pharmacy.

”We have been able to get a voluntary surrender from the pharmacy owner, which means that he has voluntarily surrendered his authorization to handle controlled substances. So, he can dispense non-controlled drugs, just not controlled drugs at this point.”

The search warrant was executed in conjunction with the Ohio Pharmacy Board, the DEA, the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, and the Barnesville Police Department.

A controlled substance is generally a drug or chemical whose manufacture, possession, or use is regulated by a government, such as illicitly used drugs or prescription medications that are designated by law.
