College Football Fans Displeased After College GameDay News

"College GameDay" has become a part of the college football landscape over the years. The weekly pregame show visits college campuses throughout the season.

The crew added a new member last season. Pat McAfee joined Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard and Rece Davis on the desk. McAfee brought his style to the show, much to the excitement or disappointment of fans, depending on who you ask.

With the 2024 college football season a couple of months away, Andrew Marchand of The Athletic reported McAfee has not signed a deal for the fall.

ESPN president of content Burke Magnus addressed the news Wednesday and said McAfee is expected to be on the crew again. Fans were not happy with this news.

The former NFL punter hosts "The Pat McAfee Show" on ESPN, which airs on weekdays. His show joined the sports network in August. The show features former NFL linebacker A.J. Hawk, Evan Fox, Zito Perez, Connor Campbell, Ty Schmidt, Tone Digs and Frank Maraldo.

While some enjoyed McAfee's presence on GameDay, others were not pleased.

"College GameDay" will open the season in Dublin, Ireland, in Week 0. The Florida State Seminoles will take on the Georgia Yellow Jackets that week. For Week 1, the show will head to College Station, where the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will face the Texas A&M Aggies.
